Will Simpson is a licensed Queensland real estate agent and the founder of Fields Real Estate, a licensed real estate agency selling homes in Robina, Varsity Lakes and Burleigh Waters. He is also Lead Analyst at Fields Research, the agency's in-house research arm. He founded Fields after spending seven years as a portfolio manager of global listed equities at Blue Oceans Capital, where he worked with institutional-grade data platforms and rigorous quantitative analysis as a matter of daily practice.
That experience left him with a clear conviction: Australian property buyers and sellers were operating with a fraction of the data transparency that equity market participants take for granted. Prices, comparable transactions, market trends, economic drivers — all of it existed, but was either locked away or presented in forms that obscured rather than clarified. He founded Fields Real Estate to close that gap, building a proprietary Gold Coast property database and applying the same analytical discipline he used in funds management to residential real estate.
Will's market analysis draws on Fields' transaction database, official data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), and the kind of macro-economic interpretation — interest rates, wage growth, employment, credit conditions — that informs institutional investment decisions. His writing explains what the data shows, why it matters, and what it means for buyers and sellers making real decisions in the current market.
